SAR work Competition in Area Search

 So, season has started and I hope that it'll be like last weekend.
On this Competition, there were 13 candidates, 8 from Slovenia and others from Croatia (KOSSP "Zagreb").
This was also one of qualifications for the World Championship for slovenians as for us. |
After few last exams where I didn't qualify because of my inferior handling in search, finally I "cooled my head" and led Gunna more smarter. I didn't interrupt her so much and that is good for her. Gunna is very independent in search and directable so it's enough direct her from time to time and then let her to do the job.

Organizer of this event was my Club KOSSP "Zagreb".
Area search was very near Zagreb, in Jezdovec. At first sight, the wood seems to be hard because of density. The handlers couldn't see their dogs. Arrivals to the figurant were more hard then usual. We walked at strait path and there, on white plastic paper, was marked meters on every 50m. Since the wood was pretty dense, it was very helpfull because the orientation was harder. But,this wood was also very nice and very challengable, for figurant but also for dog. |
Gunna had an excellent day. She found all 3 figuranst in 8'30''!
We won 198/200
points!

In obedience we got 40/50 points. We worked in central Club terrain where I always practice reviering (beats). In excercise "go with down" she run to the beat instead straight. Also, in excercise "stay with recall" she did sit. There was more little mistakes which is indicator that we must wokr more in obedience. So, the obedience was "guilty" for totally score even it's very high: 287/300 points.

Dexetrity was excelent and we won 49/50 points.
I'm the only one to blame for that lost one point because I forgot to stop before unpleasant material and forgot to call her in basic position after bringing and letting over the dog.

Total score of 287/300 points got us to 3rd place.
Second place won my Club koleague and very dear friend Ana with Mona and first place was reserved for Sara Marekovic.
Congratulations for both!
At the end, I must notice, with proud, that at all won places were borders, all of them from Mawlch kennel and all from KOSSP.
This last weekend, even it was very hard (I also judged the sam eday at the exams of first level), I must say that it tasted very sweet :-)
