On October 2nd, 2004 at the Jarun Lake, Croatian Red Cross
organized the Joint demonstrative protection and rescue drill "Jarun 2004". The purpose of the drill was to present coordination and correlation between all services for citizens' help and protection, to evaluate the possibility of interventions in crisis situation and to study the measures necessary for increasing efficiency in case of accidents of greater proportions.
The drill was characterized by huge number of participants and observers: MUP RH, GSS, Croatian fire department unit, Zagreb city fire department unit, Ministry of health and social care, Croatian Red Cross and German Red Cross Units. It was held at the time when Croatian Government was forwarding a motion to Croatian Parliament for Protection and rescue law that will regulate the tasks of services responsible for citizens' protection in crisis situations.

Our team was: Sara with Gunnas uncle Cap, Tibor with Mav and Gunne and me. All that part of Jarun was covered by lot of pavilions with many purposes. At the centre was imitated ruin made of stones, bricks, tubes, concrete blocks, constructions made of wire and wood. Near ruin, there was a high tower for climbing and rescue demontrations.

Organization was excellent.

Gunna was more then first-class: she found the decoy (hidden in tube) very fast, in few seconds.

Miho, the hidden decoy, had a serious open hand wound. You can tell by watching this picture that make-up girl did an excellent job :-)
